To apply to Yale's 2012 programs, students must complete an application form and a housing application (if the student wants to live on campus); these must be submitted with the initial fees -- $50 application fee (non-refundable) and a $200 tuition deposit (refundable if a student is not admitted to his or her program of choice).
For summer 2012 applicants should apply online and submit the initial fees of $250 by credit card. Please note that the application will not be considered complete until our office has also received the following:
- Financial documents required for the visa: an original bank statement or original letter from your or your family's bank or a scholarship letter verifying your financial support.
- Letters of recommendation for students younger than 18 years of age from a headmaster, principal, or guidance counselor, and school transcripts. (Click here to download a pdf copy of the recommendation form.)
Since language training is best accomplished in small groups, Yale does limit enrollment in English Language Institute classes; we therefore urge you to apply early to ensure a place in the course. In addition, recent visa policies have underscored the wisdom of applying early to ensure a smooth transition from your home country to the United States.
